Nourishing You from Plate to Purpose

Most nutrition advice either ignores how Kenyans actually eat, or asks you to abandon it entirely, However, none of these works. Thryvory exists to make nutrition information easy to understand and easy to follow. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be that complicated.

Who’s Behind This

I’m Victor Nderitu, and I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Food. Nutrition and Dietetics at Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya.

Thryvory started as a way to turn what I am learning in class into something my own family, campus friends and other Kenyans could actually use, without the guilt or assumption that eating well means giving up ugali and sukuma wiki.

I’m a student, not yet a licensed dietitian, and I”l always be upfront about that. What you’ll find here is grounded in coursework, research and a genuine effort to get it right. It is written to be useful now as I work toward full licensure. If anything calls for a clinician or registered dietitian, I will inform you.

What You’ll Actually Find Here

Most wellness content is either generic or vague, that is, it’s written for someone else’s plate and loosely translated. Thryvory tries to avoid both.

Whether you’re just starting on your wellness journey or looking for culturally relevant tips to deepen it, you’ll feel right at home.

Why “Thryvory”?

It’s a mix of thrive and savoury. The name intends to imply that eating well isn’t something that needs lots of money, neither should it feel like a punishment. It should still taste like something.
